Squint Limited is my new favourite interior furniture designer! How wonderful are their mixed textured, patterned and coloured upholstered designs?
Lisa Whatmough opened Squint in East London at the beginning of 2005:
“When Squint opened, the original desire was to showcase the gorgeous antique textiles we kept coming across and we found that a fusion of traditional furniture shapes and fabrics made for unexpected one off pieces. As Squint has grown it now makes to order, classic and contemporary designs manufactured in England, we want to create furniture with a narrative, pieces that stay with you for a life time and become part of your personal history.”
The craftsmanship is by far some of the best I have ever seen, they carefully restore older items and manage to retain that authentic feel, plus this is all done in England (Makes me proud to be British!).
Squint sells through Squint, Harrods, Liberty, Conran, Designers Guild, Lane Crawford Hong Kong and Beijing, Mydeco, La Rinascente Milan, Barneys New York and ships internationally.
What do you think, would you find a place for them in your home?
